The Oscar nominees have been announced, and the second biggest grossing Marvel movie of 2018, ‘Black Panther,’ got a good seven nominations including for the Best Picture category.

The superhero movie comes in second place, behind period comedy-drama, ‘The Favourite’ that scored a whooping 10 nominations.

The categories the movie was nominated for include Best Sound Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, Best Sound Mixing, Best Production Design and Best Original Song.

Avengers; Infinity War got only one nomination for Best Visual Effects despite it’s massive critical success.

The Academy Awards is due to hold on the 24th of February, 2019.
