Blast Champ aka BC is out with ‘Nwayor,’ his second single.
Born Anigala Chuka, BC is a new kid on the block who had previously released ‘Boo Boo,’ in 2014 produced by Nedz Beats.
According to a press statement, the 2013 graduate of the University of Benin, whose twin brother produces his songs, said he feels strong to compete with others in the Afro pop genre of the Nigerian music industry.
In the song, the Delta-born artiste blends Igbo flavour of highlife with the contemporary hip hop music.
The singer, rapper and a songwriter explained the theme behind ‘Nwayor.’
“Nwayor is a fusion of Afro hip-hop. It is a love story between a bar attendant and a big girl who went to the bar to relax. The attendant approached her and told her of his intention to have a relationship but she turned him down. He then went hallucinating over having a lot of money and eventually winning over the lady. Nwayor means take it easy in Igbo,” he said.
BC who is signed to Meshtro Entertainment, said he is concentrating on releasing singles and would be working on an album later on.
The Economics graduate said he always had a passion for music because of the background and then discovered his talent in music at a tender age.
“I played the flute in primary school and was a member of my secondary school choir. I performed at various school events while in university,” he said.
The artiste, who said he was working on another single that will help launch him into the big league of artists in Ni geria and Africa, added that he draws inspirations from things happening around him and in the society at large.
