BLOOM Art to show class at ArtX

BLOOM Art, Lagos, will be presenting a corps of select and exciting works at the upcoming ART X in the former capital.

In a press release, Ugoma Adegoke, independent curator and private dealer who manages BLOOM Art, her gallery was “birthed out of a need to use innovative approaches to showcase, expose, and challenge Nigerian artists – particularly in response to the lack of exhibition and expression space in the city of Lagos.”
 
Commenting further, she explained that “their exhibition programme offers pointed perspectives of contemporary visual art, its presentation and its engagement with the public thereby contributing to the dynamic development of visual art in Nigeria. Each featured artist is an important part of contemporary dialogue.”
 
Artists on BLOOM Art’s roster include Chief Muraina Oyelami, Marcia Kure, Lemi Ghariokwu and Olu Ajayi. 
They also actively exhibits and work with artists including Victor Ehikhamenor, Rom Isichei, Kainebi Osahenye, Chinwe Uwatse, Tony Nsofor, Uchay Joel Chima,Tam Fiofori, Jumoke Sanwo and Gerald Chukwuma.
The ArtX Lagos is a new art fair designed to widen Nigeria’s connection to the contemporary art scene across Africa and internationally.
 
The fair, according to information provided by its promoters, Tokini Peterside and Bisi Silva, aims to provide the best insight into what the visual art sector in Africa has to offer to a wider local and international audience, and to encourage African and international patrons to visit Lagos.
 
The maiden edition of ART X Lagos will take place between 4th and 6th November in Lagos.
