Blueprint correspondent dies in Kaduna

The Kaduna state correspondent of Blueprint newspaper, Usman Ibn Lapai, is dead.

He died on Saturday at 9.20am at the Barau Dikko Hospital Kaduna after battling with an ailment.

His funeral prayer will be conducted in his house at Katagum by Zango road at 1pm and he will be buried at Bachama Cemetery, Tudun Wada Kaduna.

70-year-old Lapai is survived by a wife, seven children and four grandchildren.

His second son, Shehu Usman, described him as a loving and dedicated father who will be missed.

He prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him the highest heaven.

Baba Lapai as he was fondly called by colleagues was a staff of the New Nigerian Newspaper (NNN) before he moved to Blueprint newspaper.

He was an active member of the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and helped secure registration for many journalists into the institute.
