The chairman of Secondary Education Board (SEB), Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, has warned principals of secondary schools against examination malpractice. 

Muhammad who was on inspection tour of   Government Secondary School (GSS), Yangoji, Kwali area council, asked principals not to allow their schools become  ‘miracle centres’ for students.

He said some lazy students always go to such centres where they can easily get their results.

He also urged the principal of GSS Yangoji to instill discipline in the students and motivate  teachers so that they can discharge their duties diligently.

He assured that the board would ensure that some of the infrastructure challenges facing the school would be addressed as soon as the budget was approved.

The board chairman, who earlier led his members to a courtesy visit to the chairman of the council, Joseph Shazhin, in his office, also solicited for his support in securing the schools.

“I also want you to understand that these schools in your domain are your schools and we crave your indulgence to involve your traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the management of facilities in the schools,” he said.

Responding, the council chairman pledged to support the board in order to ensure a conducive learning environment for the students in the area.

The team also visited Government Secondary School (GSS), Kwali, where they inspected both boys and girls hostels.
