The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has developed two strategic plans to enhance quality assurance in schools, the Registrar, Professor Muhammad Abdullahi has said.

Speaking at the flag off of schools quality assurance sensitization programme in Katsina, Abdullahi said the initiatives were in line with the national policy on education meant to address falling standard of education in the country.

According to him, the strategies involved postings on attachment of trained NBAIS staff to all Arabic and Islamic secondary schools to serve as the board’s quality assurance officers as well as organising capacity building programmes for teachers through in-house workshops and seminars.

Represented by Hafsat Ahmed, the Head of administration, Abdullahi said these strategies intended to create direct contact with schools, to strengthen schools positive efforts in implementation of the education policy as well as render support and advice in the provision of relevant teaching facilities.
