The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced plans to commence vaccination and inoculation for intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj this weekend.

A statement by Ahmad Saleh, Chief Information Officer of the Board, said the exercise will take place at the Board’s Permanent Hajj Transit Camp in Bassan Jiwa, near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to the schedule, intending pilgrims from Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Kuje and the Board’s headquarters are to report on Saturday, April 11, 2026, by 8am, while those from Abuja Municipal, Bwari, the Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) and the Annex are to report on Sunday, April 12, at the same time.

Director of the Board, Kadiri Edah, described the exercise as mandatory for all intending pilgrims.

He explained that the vaccination was necessary for the issuance of the e-yellow card, a key travel document required for entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

Edah said the immunisation covers diseases such as cerebrospinal meningitis, yellow fever, influenza and poliomyelitis, among others.

He urged all intending pilgrims to participate fully in the exercise to safeguard their health during the pilgrimage.

The Board also advised pilgrims to come along with the original receipts of their Hajj forms for seat confirmation and to submit their e-passports to officials where applicable.
