The Nasarawa State Vocational and Relevant Technology Board (NVRTB) has trained 10,000 youths in various vocational skills programme since its inception in 1998.
The General Manager of the board, Alhaji Idris Umar, disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia.

Umar explained that the programme was designed to tackle youth restiveness and to improve the living standard of the people of the state.
“We are currently producing hand bags, shoes, sanitisers, chalks, beads, school furniture among others. The empowerment skills have improved the living standard of the beneficiaries that had correspondingly reduced societal ills in the state,” Umar said.
He assured of the board’s continued determination towards tackling poverty, unemployment and youth restiveness through different skills acquisition programmes in the state. (NAN)
