Spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed the details in a press statement, noting that the deceased, Ahmed Mohammed, a resident of Hona in the Girei Local Government Area, is suspected to have committed suicide near the foothills of Bagale Mountain last Sunday.
Nguroje explained that the deceased was rushed to the Cottage Hospital in Girei, where he was tragically confirmed dead by medical personnel.
The statement read: “The Adamawa State Police Command recorded a case of sudden and unnatural death reported on March 23, 2026, following the discovery of a lifeless body hanging from a tree at the foothills of Bagale Mountain, Girei Local Government Area.
“The victim, identified as 46-year-old Ahmed Mohammed of Anguwan Hona, was taken to Cottage Hospital, Girei, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. An investigation is currently ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death.”
