‘Boko Haram’ attack: 39 killed, 2000 houses burnt in Konduga, Borno State


39 people were confirmed killed, over 50 injured and more than 2000 houses were burnt in Konduga, headquarters of Konduga local gov area of Borno State after an attack.

The attack was launched by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Tuesday who stormed the town with two armored carriers and hilux trucks.

Gov Kashim Shettima who visited the town yesterday cried profusely, stressing that the Boko Haram terrorists have no reason of doing what they did.

He directed the release of N100m for relief materials to the traumatized locals.

Our correspondent who was in Konduga today reports that almost 80 percent of the town is gone.

The house of the district head, mosque, schools, hospitals, agric office, court, library and other public buildings were all destroyed.
