The security challenge in this country has become very worrisome and threatening whereby a number of people who are displaced and those that lost their jobs as a result of insecurity cannot be counted; whereby the people who fled from their homes and are living in the bush are numberless; whereby children disappeared and have not been reunited with their parents.

Also,farmers are afraid of going to farms because of gunmen; thousands of young people have been turned into beggars; in fact even the level of illiteracy is increasing because many pupils and students dropout of school due to security challenges.

I doubt much if the federal  government is ready to restore the security of this country anymore and the most painful part of this dramatic insecurity situation is that a goodish chunk of the nation’s budget is allocated to security every year, yet there is no change. Just yesterday, gunmen attacked former president Goodluck Jonathan’s country house. So tell me, how can an ordinary person save his life where even the elite who have means can’t be protected.

Hmm!!!  Really this is Nigeria. ‘Wallahi Tallahi gommati taji tsoron Allah’. Our lives are at risk always. When are we going to live peacefully. We who even three square meals are difficult for us. How can we provide security for ourselves and family.

Therefore, it is very important that the federal government knows that it has not done anything yet with regards to the security situation of this nation. It has to redouble efforts toward a ensuring better security structure in the country: the kind that the developed countries have.  The security structure that would favour both the government and the governed. So the nation’s intelligence units Nigerian security outfits need to be properly boosted to be able  to adequately monitor the nooks and crannies of the entire country. That  is the only way government will guarantee security to its teeming populace.
