Speaking at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, NSUK Prof. Muhammad Akaro Mainoma, commended the author for writing the book and assured him that upon graduation he will be employed by the unversity.
He assured that the university will continue to provide the environment for its students to excel and urged others to emulate the exemplary acts of the author.
In his address, Malam Muhammad S. Rabiu, the Head of the Department disclosed that the author used the time he had during the last six-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) between June and December 2013 to write the book.
He said after Auwal had completed it, he met him about writing the foreword for it and that he obliged.
“I am extremely delighted by the honour done to me by all those who attended and participated in the launching. I thank everybody from the Emir of Keffi who is our chancellor to the acting vice-chancellor down to all the students that graced the occasion,” Auwal said.
The book titled News Writing and Reporting is a 76-page, seven-chapter book that was published last January.
