Book launch: Igbinedion’s donation not to court

Igbinedion, during the launch of the book: ‘Encyclopedia of Civil Procedures and Practices of Superior Courts in Nigeria’ in Abuja on April 30, donated the sum of N8 million while describing the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
But in a statement recently, the Chief Registrar of the court, Mrs Rose Oghoghorie said the launch and the donation had nothing to do with the court.
She said the event was put together by a group of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) in honour of Justice Auta, and is not linked with the court or the sentencing of one of the sons of Igbinedion for corruption, as reported by a newspaper.
“There is no correlation at all, between the book launch in honour of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court with the sentencing of the son of the Edo Monarch”, she said.
