Book on history of Nyuwar launched in Gombe

The book titled: “The People of Nyuwar,” was authored by Dr. Charles Zaure Sabe.
Speaking during the launching of the book, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State, represented by the Deputy Governor Thaanda Jason Rubainu, said the book will contribute to the development of knowledge for those who will be interested in knowing more about culture and tradition of the people of Nyuwar.
He said the book will help future generations of Nyuwar people to appreciate their history by learning from the travails of their forefathers and their rich cultural heritage.
He said: “The flaws in the book should not constitute any serious problem. I, therefore, urge the indigenes of Nyuwar to make positive contributions aimed at improving its content.”
The 275-page book has documented the origin, belief, tradition, social and religious practices including profile of notable persons in Nyuwar community.
