Taraba border communities in three local government areas are now living in fear over attacks by both Cameroonian soldiers and Ambazonian militiamen.
Some community people, in a chat with Daily Trust, attributed the attack to the absence of Nigerian security agents in most of the border communities, which also heightens the fears.

Mr John Samuel who relocated from a village in Kurmi, one of the local government areas located at the border between Nigeria and Cameroon, said the border communities had been faced with constant harassment from Cameroon soldiers.
“Soldiers from Cameroon are taking advantage of the absence of security always and come under the pretext of searching members of separatists group,” he said.
He said the Cameroon soldiers always storm border communities mostly in the night and harass the residents.
Samuel disclosed that the community people had been raising the alarm but no action had been taken to deploy security in all the border communities in the state.
“The Cameroon soldiers and Ambazonian militia would always perpetrate their crimes against us and go free without being tracked by Nigerian security agents whereas Nigerian security agents can not go to Cameroon without being arrested,” he said.
