He said the institution which was established in 1992 is based in Gamboru-Ngala, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon and is meant to serve as a professional training ground for students of Arabic, Islamic studies and allied programmes in Nigeria’s higher institutions.
Al- Bulaturee said the federal government established the Arabic Village together with the French Village in Lagos but lamented that the Arabic Village is passing through difficult times as a result of Boko Haram crisis.
He said: “9,000 students from various universities and colleges of education in the country who supposed to do their internship at the Arabic Village before collecting their degrees and NCE results could not do so as a result of insecurity, thereby making Islamic studies and Arabic lessons in such schools to suffer.”
He said the institution, which lacked perimeter fence, electricity and other basic needs   had to shutdown in 2013 because both teachers and students could not stay on campus.
He also appealed to the Tertiary Institutions Fund (TETFUND) to start releasing monies meant for the school which has been suspended for many years.
