Borno Assembly sacks Majority leader

The Borno State House of Assembly today at its sitting removed the Majority Leader of the House, Idrissa Njidda.

All the members of the House belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in the state.

NJidda represents Ngala State Constituency, the hometown of former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.

Sheriff recently announced his plan to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and  are insinuations that almost half of the members of the Assembly are planning to follow up.

Njidda is reportedly a frontline supporter of Sheriff and at the height of the former governir’s defection plan during the last Ramadan, he  said he will also join the PDP.

Njidda’s removal yesterday follows recommendation from the APC stakeholders in Borno State who accused him of anti party pasturing.
