The Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Durkwa yesterday said that emirs displaced by insurgents are back to their domains to celebrate Sallah as a sign that peace has returned to the state.
Usman who stated this after Eid-Eil-Kabir prayers in Maiduguri, said that this year’s Sallah celebration was most peaceful and successful in the last seven years.
Besides, he noted that all local government caretaker chairmen have been directed to celebrate with the IDPs in their various camps.
“Today we had a peaceful eid celebration. Also it is our prayers that it would be the end of insurgents in Borno so that our people can go back to respective local government area,” he said.
