On May 29, 2017, Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima flagged off and personally supervised the distribution of 2,250 bags and tins of rice, sugar and tomato pastes at the Lamusila Primary School premises. Speaking on the distribution of Ramadan food items, the Chairman of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, Ahmed Satomi disclosed that 134, 000 metric tons of relief food items were distributed to 1.9 million people in two council areas which are hosting displaced persons from 22 councils affected by the insurgency.
