Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has commended the Victim Support fund (VSF) over the reconstruction of Bama LG that was destroyed by the Boko Haram. The Governor was speaking on the 16th of May while commissioning the Bama LG secretariat which was rebuilt by the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (MRRR) and funded by VSF.
Governor Shettima expressed his appreciation to the Chairman of VSF, General TY Danjuma (rtd) and members of the Committee for supporting the reconstruction of Dikwa and Bama. Earlier during the occasion, the Executive Secretary of the VSF, Professor Sunday Ochoche, disclosed that the Fund has “spent over N368 million on the reconstruction projects.” According to Professor Ochoche, the Fund has also engaged in education projects notably, the construction of 16 schools in Damboa, Chibok and Askira Uba as well as women empowerment programmes.
The Chairman of VSF General TY Danjuma (rtd) represented by the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah expressed appreciation to Governor Shettima for his support and cooperation.
