Gunmen suspected to be members of the Book Haram Haram have killed 29 people in separate attacks on Borno villages, locals said.
Nine people were killed during a night raid on Alagarno village of Damboa local government.
Locals from the area who traveled to Maiduguri yesterday, said scores of armed insurgents stormed the area.
” They killed 19 people and burnt most houses and shops in the village. They also loaded bags of assorted food unto vehicles and fled with the,” Musa Jalo, one of the locals that was seen at Tashar Kano in Maiduguri, said.
Earlier on Monday, the insurgents had attacked Shawa village, 15 kilometers away from Chibok where they killed eight people.
They also killed two others in nearby Kopchi villages.
It was gathered that houses, vehicles and motorcycles were burnt in the two villages.
There is no immediate statement on the attacks from security forces in Majduguri
