A group under the aegis of Gorza Elite Forum, from Borno state, has donated food items to the Edo Internally displaced Persons (IDP) camp and called on Governor, Babagana Zulum to extend his gestures to Borno inmate at the camp.

Presenting the items at the Uhogua camp, Edo State, the forum president, Mr. Ibrahim Emmanuel Mbitsa, said they heard about the academic feats of the inmates from the camp in various universities, especially the recent one where one of them graduated with a first class in Chemical Engineering and others too with flying colours.

“The inmates in Edo camp are sons and daughters of Borno State from Gwoza LGA, so he should not abandon them in times of their needs.

“I heard that the pastor sent a letter to the state government in respect of some indigenes of Borno State so that it will come to their aid. I don’t know if the letter got to him but I know he is helping people. we have seen him in various IDP camp in Cameroon, Niger and Chad.’’

Responding, the Coordinator of the camp, Pastor Folorusho Solomon, commended the forum for being the first indigenes to identify with their Borno brothers and sisters in the camp.

“We called on the government of Borno state and well-meaning individuals and groups to come and support us. If we get more support, we would be able to do more not only for the children in the camp but others in need”

He said 18 inmate of the camp graduated this year from the university and one of them, Emos Ishaku, graduated with first class from the Edo State University, Iyamho.

City & Crime reports that items donated include rice, indomie, toiletries among other items.
