The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno State has suspended the chairman and secretary of the party in Jere Local Government Area for disrespecting state executives.
The State PDP Chairman, Zanna Gazama, who confirmed the suspension, said Muhammad Mustapha, the LG chairman of the party, was suspended because “he refused to attend party meetings since 2022 and take instructions from the state working committee of the party.
“As for the secretary, when the chairman was suspended, he called for an illegal meeting of the executives and tried to mobilize them to kick against the suspension, and the party had no option but to suspend him too,” he said.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at the NUJ center in Maiduguri on Thursday, the suspended party secretary in Jere, Usman Haruna, said the suspension was null and void because it’s against the constitution of the party.
