State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hajja Inna Galadima, yesterday, at the inspection of 20 boreholes drilled in Fariya and Kazallari communities of Jere LGA of the state, said government has provided the 20 boreholes to boost irrigation farming.
“Youths should engage in farming businesses rather than  sit idle waiting for white collar jobs. Youths should also know that farming is a very lucrative job if supported by government.
“The Governor Kashim Shettima-led administration is very supportive in this area, and is now providing conducive environment for irrigation farming. It has already procured farm implements worth millions of naira for distribution to farmers towards  producing enough food in the state,” Galadima said.
The commissioner also described farming as another source of wealth creation, hence, the Ministry of Agriculture will support it consistently and solve all the problems concerning farming in the state.
