The Borno State government has planned to convert 2,000 tricycles and 30 buses to autogas in an effort to address rising transport fares occasioned by fuel subsidy removal. 

The state governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, disclosed this when the Chief Executive Officer of African Motor Works, Mustapha Gajibo and his team visited him in Maiduguri Government House. 

“The Government of Borno State led by the Executive Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum have engaged the services of African Motor Works to convert 2000 tricycles and 30 coaster buses to use autogas in order to cushion the effect of the rising cost of transportation on the Borno State citizens.

“Autogas is the viable alternative to petrol in the face of subsidy removal. Nigeria will be great again,” Gajibo said.
