An 18-year-old boy, Tasiu Shaibu, has been arraigned before a magistrate’s court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly stealing female panties.

Shaibu, whose address wasn’t given, is facing a count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Lawrence Balogun, told the court that the accused person committed the alleged offence at No.7, Baase Owe Compound, Okeiro, Abeokuta.

Balogun stated that the defendant allegedly stole the pants belonging to one Oladipupo Taiwo by removing them from the block they were spread and wrapping them in his pocket.

The prosecutor said Taiwo’s parents saw the accused and raised an alarm, which attracted neighbours who handed him over to the police.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence.

In his ruling, Magistrate Olakulehin Oke granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety and adjourned the case till May 3, 2019 for trial.
