The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the drowning of a 17-year-old boy, Aliyu Zakariya, in Kabuga, Gwale Local Government Area, of the state.
Spokesman of the fire service, Saminu Abdullahi, said the boy went to swim when he got drowned.
He said, “We received a distress call at about 10am from one Sha’aibu Rabiu-Aliyu and we immediately sent our rescue team to the scene.”
Abdullahi, however, said Aliyu was brought out of the water dead, adding that his corpse had been handed over to his father, Alhaji Zakariya of Dorayi Quarters.
