…Boy hit by stray bullets cries out for help

A young boy, Bolaji Kalejaiye, who was hit by stray bullets during the fracas that led to loss of lives and properties at Mile 12 market in Lagos penultimate week, has cried out for financial assistance from well meaning Nigerians.
Sixteen-year old Bolaji who was recuperating at Lagos State University of Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, made the appeal at the weekend when he was visited by a team of lawmakers from the State House of Assembly.
The lawmakers led by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, saluted the tenacity of Bolaji who, after being hit by stray bullets and his intestines spilled out, still had the courage to pack his intestines and run to the police station for help.
Bolaji was eventually saved by good Samaritans that rushed him to a private hospital from where he was referred to LASUTH.
 Speaking through his mother, Mrs. Alero Kalejaiye,  Bolaji appreciated the lawmakers’ gesture for finding time to visit him at the hospital and donating N500,000 towards his treatment.
He appealed to more Nigerians to come to his aid as he battled for his life.
 Mrs Kalejaiye said: “My son was hit by stray bullets during the Mile 12 crisis while returning from where he had gone to write his university entrance examination. I thank the Speaker for his gesture and want to appeal to more Nigerians to come to our aid as we battle to save my son’s life.”
The Speaker was accompanied during the visit by the Chairman of the House Committee on Health, Segun Olulade; Chairman, Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Tunde Buraimoh and Chairman, Committee on Jusitce, Human Rights, Public Petitions and Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Princess Adefunmilayo Tejuoso.
