A young boy has reportedly shot dead his friend with his grandfather’s pistol while testing the efficacy of spiritual bulletproof in Bayelsa State.
The yet-to-be-identified 10-year-old boy and his 12-year-old friend were said to be re-enacting a movie they saw in their Otuan Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
According to some residents of Otuan Community, the boys were acting scenes from the movie they watched the previous day when the deceased claimed that he had a spiritual bulletproof and challenged the 10-year-old to test it.
The killer boy was said to have quickly run into his grandfather’s room, picked up a pistol and fired the shot that killed his friend and fled.

It was also gathered that his grandfather who owns the pistol is an ex-serviceman, but was not at home when the incident occurred.
A community source told Daily Trust on Sunday that “people are currently searching for the boy who is on the run. There is a law in the community that whoever kills another person in the community would be put to death instantly.”
When contacted, the police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, said the incident had not been reported to the police at the time of filing the story.
