It was argued that the Brabus CLS could hit 320km/h even on public roads given a good spot. Recently, its successor has been the Brabus Bullit Black series. It shares basic the same engine but move, much faster than ‘the Rocket’. Even though it is built on a compact executive platform. Now with the upcoming 2012 CLS, we hope to see something new. Though the CLS does have some added advantage.
When it was first introduced in 2005, Fifth Gear presenter, Jason Plato, had a go at the Brabus on a public road where he attempted to hit 320km/h (200mph). His attempt didn’t prove successful due to the traffic condition he encountered. He only managed 307km/h (191mph). We definitely believe the Brabus is capable and can do it effortlessly and comfortably. It’s blessed with a V12 biturbo engine that delivers a staggering amount of torque and power on an E-class platform tune to race mode. Its as powerful as Formula 1 cars and equally fast. We love the CLS for having an anti slip differential for a better control of the rear end.
So, why would you pay for such a car here in Nigeria? Well, here is the thing. Such cars are built to give you ultimate driving satisfaction and it is made a lot safer than the regular CLS. Obviously, it will serve very well as a weekend car to your home town. This is like a getaway car from all that hardwork that will keep your life very exciting and much to look forward that when you have the money. The service interval will meanly depend on how often used. For most GT cars, service may take up to a year.
So far, the Brabus CLS has come and is going and for those who own it, they will mostly keep it. We have not sighted any, particularly in Nigeria but we believe there are those who will still try to get their hands on them. All we can say, we shall miss it. Nevertheless, we are anticipating a replacement on the 2012 version.
