Estranged Hollywood actor Brad Pitt will not file a legal response to Angelina Jolie’s divorce petition as he feels it would set the stage for a nasty legal battle which would cause great psychological damage to their kids, according to close sources

Brad’s legal answer was supposed to be filed Wednesday, but the deadline came and went sources close to the case said.

Brad wants joint legal and physical custody, but if he actually filed papers it would draw the battlelines as Angelina wants sole physical custody, setting up a possible custody war.

Angelina could set the wheels in motion for a default judgment since Brad hasn’t answered her petition, but that seems unlikely as she agrees wants what is best for the family.

TMZ sources have also claimed that there’s a chance the whole divorce case could be settled privately without any dueling divorce documents.
