Real estate developers, Brains and Hammers, have promised to help the 36 state governors bridge their housing deficit with the provision of low-income housing units.
Speaking at the weekend at the official inauguration of 101 units of mixed housing development, Coopeast Beach Resort, Mr. Omo Osobase, the Chief Operating Officer (West), Brains and Hammers Plus, said the company has the capacity to help the Lagos State government meet its housing deficit if contracted.

“The problem is that most housing projects embarked on by successive governments are not actually targeted at low-income earners, even though the projects are known to be called low-cost housing, but Brains and Hammers has the capacity to build housing units for the poor,” he added.
Osobase said the Coopeast Beach Resort project, which consists of 101 units, started in August 2019.
He said a breakdown of the housing units showed; 70 terraces, a block of six flats comprising 3-bedrooms each, 14 fully detached houses and eight semi-detached houses.
He said the estate, which sits on a three-hectare land (30,000sqm), is also fitted with a gym, water treatment plant, six transformers, swimming pool, recreation area and a mini-mall.
The project, built in partnership with the Cooperative Societies of International Oil and Gas Companies, Shell, and ExxonMobil, has a 50 per cent buy-in of Shell Cooperative Society; 20 per cent buy-in of ExxonMobil Cooperative Society and 30 per cent buy-in from individuals.
