Six people have been confirmed infected with the Ebola virus after they were tested positive while one infected person has died in Nigeria.

Health minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu, disclosed this at a press briefing today.

The Ebola virus claimed its first Nigerian victim, a nurse who treated Patrick Sawyer, says Chukwu.

He added that the victims were people who had primary contact with Patrick Sawyer, Nigeria’s first recorded victim of the virus.

“Five others are already being quarantine,” he says.
