Madam Betinah Benson, mother to the Secretary to Bayelsa State Government (SSG), Rt. Hon. Konbowei Friday Benson, has regained freedom after spending 31 days in the kidnappers’ den.
Madam Benson, who was abducted at her residence at the old legislative quarters in Yenagoa on July 21, was released on Sunday afternoon.

A family source, who declined to be named, confirmed the release of the 80-year-old woman but did not disclose how much was paid as ransom or where she was released.
Family members and friends were seen celebrating the return of the abducted madam Benson.
The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the release to Daily Trust on phone but promised to issue a statement later.
