Buhari’s body arrives Katsina

The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari have arrived the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina, ahead of his burial.

Buhari’s body was airlifted by the Nigerian presidential aircraft in London on Tuesday morning.

President Bola Tinubu, who personally received the body at the airport, had earlier asked Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Femi Gbajabiamila, his Chief of Staff, to proceed to the UK to accompany the body home.

Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina, Ministers, governors, Captains of industries, National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Presidential aides and members of Katsina State Executive Council, were on ground.

Others are the former President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Service Chiefs, former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai and others.

The  Federal Government  declared Tuesday a public holiday in honour of the late President, who passed away on Sunday.
The holiday  comes as part of the ongoing seven-day national mourning period earlier announced by President Tinubu to pay tribute to Buhari’s life and legacy.
