Breaking financial strongholds

But this is not what we see in the lives of many believers today. We see different kinds of financial problems.
21 Manifestations of financial stronghold
1. Chronic poverty-lack or insufficiency that has lasted long; poverty that has defied all solutions
2. Financial difficulties running in the family.
3. Perpetual struggle-struggling or labouring in vain, working like an elephant, eating like an ant; failure of effort.
4. History of fluctuation-financial ups and downs
5. Lack of favour-Failure to get help.
6. Switching of fortunes-peoples contracts or jobs have been given to others. Working for others to eat
7. Lateness in life – always being behind your mates – always arriving late for things and missing one’s turn.
8. Procrastination.
9. Frequent losses, accidents etc
10. Inability to save despite a high income – earning and putting into bags with holes (Haggai 1:6). I once ministered to a sister who told me that each time she received  payment for a contract, trouble would arise that would eat up her profit and then stop.
11. Putting in bags with holes.
12. Dreams-of stepping on faeces, dump sites, getting lost in the bush, climbing and not reaching the top, falling from heights. Receiving money in the dream. Some people are wealthy in their dream but wretched in real life. Peculiar dreams that are followed by losses or misfortune.
13. Peculiar temptations that occur before a major loss – mostly sexual in nature but could be any other temptation that is consistent with the person’s weakness.
14. Compulsive buying especially on credit – there are people who buy everything that appeals to them even when they don’t have the money.
15. Sudden loss of job, cessation of contracts and income following a new contact or a new friend coming into your life.
16. Bringing forth for trouble. (I remember the case of a sister who developed a problem that ate up her profit each time she got paid for executing a contract). This is a sign of the presence of harvest waster.
17. Inability to secure a job or contracts despite being qualified.
18. Lack of patronage in business though providing good services.
19. Sudden financial pressures. Overdue debt, overdue house rent, school fees, other needs of complete dependants, critical lack of food, means of basic maintenance, sudden crippling losses in business, acute problems in securing funds for contracts, medical issues requiring urgent payment, etc. I know a man who could not pay his house rent consistently for about four years.
20. A chain of financial problems. A flood of financial problems can break a man down. There was a relentless attack on Job’s business, family and health. These were all designed to break him down.
21.  Failure at the edge of success.
What should manifest in your life?
Consider the following Scriptures:
• Wealth and riches – wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever. Psalm 112:3
• Proverbs 3:33, “The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.” 3John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
• You will serve the Lord and He shall bless your bread and your water; I will take sickness from among of you. Exodus 23:25
• “7For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;  9A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack anything in it;” Deuteronomy 8:7-9.
• “8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”. Joshua 1:8
20 Forces of poverty
1. Curses
2. Fear
3. Laziness and procrastination.
4. Spiritual traffic wardens.
5. Failure at the edge of breakthrough.
6. Disillusionment and discouragement
7. Impatience
8. The pursuit of wrong purpose.
9. Greed.
10. Jealousy and Envy.
11. Witchcraft manipulation.
12. Demonic initiations. Demonic suckers.
13. Wrong exposure to sex.
14. Pride
15. Grumbling and complaining spirit.
16. Ignorance.
17. Wrong use of the mouth. Poverty talk or language. “Where am I going to get that kind of money?” ‘Heaven! I don’t have that kind of money. Things are not working fine.’
18. Negative attitude.
19.  Spiritual assassins
20. Wrong association.
5 Ways to break financial stronghold
1. Get rid of poverty mentality and develop the mindset of the rich. Uncommon Wisdom. 1Kings 4:30, “And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.” See the relationship between wisdom and wealth. Uncommon secrets generate uncommon wealth. Proverbs 24:3-4 (NIV), “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; 4through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” 1Kings 10:23, “So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.”  The man with UNCOMMON WISDOM ended up with UNCOMMON WEALTH. The Bible says with wisdom is riches and honour – Proverbs 8:18, “With me are riches and honour, enduring wealth and prosperity.”
2. Break the curse of poverty. Jesus broke the curse of poverty by shedding his blood on the Cross so that we can enjoy the blessing of Abraham. Galatians 3:13-14, “13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
3. Tithe regularly. Malachi 3:10
4. Uncommon sacrifice. This is the secret of uncommon wealth. Abraham placed his son Isaac on the altar to sacrifice him when asked by God to do so. King Solomon offered an uncommon sacrifice of a thousand burnt offerings to God as soon as he assumed the throne of his father. A widow gave all that she had to the prophet Elijah, she came out of lack immediately.  Consumption diminishes you; sowing seeds multiplies you.
5. Uncommon worship. Psalm 67:5-7
You will no longer live from hand to mouth! Heaven’s abundance will flow into your life continually, in the precious name of Jesus!
