Fubara lands in Port Harcourt Airport

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has finally landed in the state.

There have been concerns over the absence of the governor after the departure of the sole Administrator of the state, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ekwe Ibas (rtd) following expiration of the emergency rule.

Supporters of the governor had trooped to the Government House, Port Harcourt, to welcome him back after the 6-month suspension.

However, they dispersed after waiting for several hours.

They had returned to Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Friday morning.

The plane which conveyed the governor to the airport touched down around mid-day.

After exchanging pleasantries with his supporters at the VIP wing of the Airport, he went into one of the vehicles in his convoy and departed.

It was uncertain if he was heading directly to the Government House to resume immediately.
