Niger state police command said the attackers of Limawa secondary school Minna were hoodlums not gunmen as earlier speculated.
Limawa primary and secondary schools, Minna, Niger state came under attack on Monday by suspected cultists.

Spokesperson of the Niger state Police command DSP Ibrahim Gambari said the morning attack on students of the school was a clash between two rival groups of hoodlums from Soje and Kpakungu areas of the town.

Gombari said no gun was used during the clash as speculated adding that the hoodlums attacked themselves using machetes.

Daily Trust gathered that some students of the school are members of the rival cults groups which led to the attack on them.
The police spokesperson said, eight people were arrested in connection with the attack and would soon be arraigned before the court.

A health worker at General Hospital Minna who didn’t want to be named said three students were brought to the hospital with injuries but were discharged after treatment.

Last week, a female suicide bomber killed herself and a student at the Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Niger state.
