President Goodluck Jonathan has cancelled his planned trip to Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, following the early morning bombing that killed scores of people in Abuja.

The president was initially scheduled to attend the centenary birthday service of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Odulana Odugade, which holds in Ibadan today.
He is expected to instead visit Nyanya in Abuja the scene of the blast by 12noon.
Meanwhile, all the service chiefs and the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, are already at the scene of the incident.
Scores of people were killed today when a bomb suspected to have been buried underground exploded at the densely-populated Nyanya Motor Park, Abuja claiming lots of lives and injuring several others.
The explosion occurred around 6am (Nigerian time)on Monday at the densely populated motor park affecting about seven Abuja BRT buses popularly called ‘El-Rufai buses’ and several other commuter buses and private cars.
Eye witnesses say the explosion claimed more than 200 lives but casualty figures may increase as more bodies are being evacuated from the scene.
Our correspondent saw dozens of dead bodies, some burnt beyond recognition, while they were being evacuated by emergency and rescue teams from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), FCT Fire Service, State House Hospital Ambulances, Federal Road Safety Corps and FCT Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs).
Our correspondent at the scene saw at least five ambulances filled with corpses from the explosion which were being taken to the National Hospital, Abuja.

Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

The blasts of explosion was heard early morning in Nyanya, Abuja this morning, near the ever busy Nyanya bridge.

Over 100 people are feared dead as at the time of filing this report.

The explosion occured at the popular Nyanya bus stop in Abuja, early this morning has left many casualties in its wake.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command DSP Alitine Daniel confirmed reports of the blast, but asked Daily Trust for more time to get details.

Daily trust has gathered that security forces has since cordon off the site of the blast.
