The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is leading by over 60,000 votes in the ongoing governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Governor Duoye Diri of the PDP, who is seeking reelection, has so far polled 137,909 votes while Timipre Sylva, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, trails with 73,503 votes, leaving a margin of  64,406 .

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far announced results in six Local Government Areas (LGAs) out of the eight in Bayelsa.
