“The second explosion was more devastating because it killed so many people who gathered at the scene of the first explosion,” Babaaji Bukar, a witness said.
Daily Trust reports that there was a blast at the busy One Way road near the Monday Market in Maiduguri around 11am.
The second explosion went off minutes after the first one.
“The woman tied the explosive at her back and approached the scene of the first blast. I think she knew what she was doing and some people must have remotely controlled the explosive. Dozens of people must have been affected,” Isma’ila Jafar, a trader said.

Al Jazeera reported that 60 persons may have died from the twin blast.
Our correspondents report that there was heavy gridlock around the Monday Market.
Many policemen, firefighters and officials of Red Cross and those from the National Emergency management Agency (NEMA) had mobilized to the scene.
Thick smoke was still billowing from the scene of the twin blasts when this report was being filed.
