A suspected suicide bomber has detonated a bomb in a local market around Arawa area of Gombe metropolis killing himself and five others shoppers and hawkers in an evening suicide mission Friday in Gombe which left ten people injured.
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) head of operations Saidu Ahmed Minin gave out the casualty figure.
Our correspondent gathered that the bomber came to the market around 7: 25pm carrying the bomb and on reaching the densely populated area of the market he detonated the bomb killing himself and five traders, hawkers and shoppers.
Sources told Daily Trust that after the explosion mob burned the remains of the bomber.
This is coming just three days after a suspected suicide bomber riding a motorcycle along Kasuwan Mata area of Gombe metropolis killed himself and two others people on Tuesday.
The state police spokesman, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, could not be reached for comment as his mobile phones were switched off.
