A 37-year-old bricklayer, Moses Bayewunmi, has appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly assaulting a woman, Mrs. Omolara Akinrinoye.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of assault and misdemeanor.
The prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyeigha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on August 5, around 6 pm at Akinrinwa Street in Okitipupa.
Omoyeigha said that during a misunderstanding, the defendant assaulted the complainant by hitting her with a stick, which caused her injuries.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Mayowa Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in the same amount. (NAN)
