One of the critical stakeholders in Kogi State, Dr. Folabora Bryhm, yesterday called on the security agencies and the State government to go after killers of two farmers in Odo Ape community of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the State.

Dr Bryhm, who condemned the brutal killing of the farmers, also demanded the federal government’s interventions in the security situation of Kogi State, adding that it was imperative to bring the farmers’ killers to book.

Weekend Trust had reported how no fewer than two farmers – Sunday Aiyedero and a Tiv man resident in the community, were gruesomely murdered on their respective farms last week by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the area.

Following their killing, youths of the community blocked Lokoja-Kabba federal highway to protest the farmers’ death while calling on the security agents to hunt down the gunmen and bring them to book.

Reacting to the incident while speaking to journalists in Abuja, Dr Bryhm called on both people of the community and the government at all levels to take immediate action to address the growing security concerns in the area.

The renowned philanthropist and businessman, stressed that such senseless violence had no place in the community, adding that any form of violence must be met with swift justice.

He said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in Odo-Ape. The killings of Sunday Aiyedero and the Tiv man are deplorable acts that have ruffled the foundation of our peaceful community.

“We must come together, as a people and as a government, to ensure that those responsible for these horrible crimes are brought to justice. I commiserate with the families of the victims and the Odo-Ape Community.

“We will not allow these acts of violence to define us. Together, we will ensure that justice is served and that Odo-Ape, along with the rest of Kabba/Bunu and Kogi state by extension, is a safe place for all its residents.”
