Students have been urged to learn about other fields of study other than theirs, to broaden their horizons.

A Neurological consultant from the National Hospital, Dr Yusuf Salman stated this yesterday at the third Career Day celebration of Sheikh Abubakar Gummi Academy, in Abuja.

He said in the 21st century, where information is over flooded, student must endeavour to know about other fields that they may not want to specialise in.

“This will broaden and widen your horizon, you will know things you naturally wouldn’t have known if you stuck with your field of study”, he said.

The medical consultant also told the students that narrowing their subjects to their particular field of interest will help them specialise and be an expert in it.

“Don’t stop at undergraduate studies, study further and specialise in your field so you can be an expert,” he said.

He further urged the students to pursue their choice of careers and not be pressured by anyone to change them.
