Broken trust in governance is one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges, according to Peter Agada, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party.

Agada made this known during a visit to the palace of the Och’Idoma, Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, where he sought royal blessings and support for his presidential bid.

Addressing the royal court, Agada outlined his policy framework, “Labour Direct,” which he said is designed to tackle

Nigeria’s deep-rooted socio-economic and governance challenges.

He listed insecurity, youth unemployment, the weakening naira, infrastructure decay, and what he described as a growing erosion of trust in governance as key issues confronting the country.

“Broken trust in governance is a major problem befalling us as a nation,” Agada said, stressing that restoring public confidence in leadership would be central to his agenda.

Under his proposed Labour Direct blueprint, the aspirant pledged to implement a community-led security system supported by technology to protect both rural and urban areas.

On job creation, he proposed the establishment of industrial hubs across the country’s geopolitical zones, with a focus on agro-processing and solid minerals development to drive youth employment.

“Nigeria needs execution, not excuses. Labour Direct is about putting Nigerians to work — securing them, skilling them, and giving them a stake,” he said.
