BUA Group has awarded a total of N30 billion in cash incentives to 510 employees at its 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards, marking one of the largest employee reward initiatives by a Nigerian private sector company.

The ceremony celebrated long service, loyalty, and outstanding contributions by employees whose years of service range from five years to more than four decades. The initiative underscores a core belief that has guided the Group since its inception: sustainable businesses are built by people.

Speaking at the event, the Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu CFR CON, described the occasion as a tribute to loyalty, resilience, and collective ownership of the BUA story.

He recalled that from humble beginnings 36 years ago, BUA has grown into one of Nigeria’s most valuable listed companies, with a combined market capitalisation now running into trillions of naira. He stressed, however, that this growth was not the achievement of one individual, board, or capital alone.

According to Rabiu, “Every factory built, every system strengthened, every challenge overcome, and every milestone achieved bears the imprint of employees who believed in the vision long before the results became visible.”

He reaffirmed that BUA has consistently viewed its workforce as partners in a shared legacy rather than mere staff, noting that loyalty and professionalism deserve tangible recognition.

Under the 2025 awards, N30 billion was distributed to 510 recipients across multiple long service and excellence categories.

Some recipients got cash prizes ranging from N100 million to N1 billion.

Sixteen employees received N100 million each, nine received N200 million each; seven received N250 million each while three received N500 million each just as five received N1 billion each.

There was one special award recipient whose cash prize was not disclosed at the event.

The special award was presented to Kabiru Rabiu in recognition of his exceptional loyalty, leadership, and long-standing contribution to the growth and stability of the BUA Group.

Rabiu described the cash awards as a gesture of appreciation, noting that no amount of money can fully compensate for decades of dedication, personal sacrifice, and belief in the company’s mission.

Looking ahead, he said BUA would continue expanding capacity, investing in advanced technologies, and strengthening its presence across cement, food, sugar, and infrastructure, while ensuring that the people who built the Group continue to grow alongside it.

The event was attended by staff, partners, customers, and distinguished captains of industry, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote, as well as friends and well-wishers. Also in attendance were the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; Nigeria’s Minister of Finance (State), Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite; and the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.
