Zamfara State government has proposed N160b for the 2022 budget based on estimated revenues of N80b for recurrent and N80b for capital.
Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, who stated this while presenting the budget proposal at the State House of Assembly said key projects would be undertaken by his administration in the course of implementation.
He added that in the previous budget for 2021, there was a total outlay of N142b, made up of N74b and N68b, as recurrent and capital revenues, respectively.
“As a result of the local economic trends, occasioned by insecurity, and the shortfalls in the revenue accruals, the original budget was reviewed downward to N117b, with N70b as recurrent revenue and N46b as capital revenue.”
“Consequently, the corresponding outlays for recurrent and capital stood at N64b and N53b, respectively, for the period under review. This we did in order to dance in tune with reality,” he said.
