Hajiya Mai Talle equally had in January donated the sum of N1 million, which she said was her life savings, to Buhari and promised to give people free food should the APC presidential candidate win. She had waited for hours for Buhari’s arrival before making the donation.
In fulfilling her promise, Hajiya Mai Talle, 90, slaughtered two cows, one ram and declared free food to the public over the weekend at her food shop in Koko to celebrate Buhari’s victory.
Many people from neighbouring villages and travellers as well as truck drivers from Lagos, Birnin Kebbi, Zuru, Yauri, Dakingari and Sokoto axis, who usually patronize her, were seen being served meals of their choice.
“I had to order for slaughter of two cows and a ram, which cost me about N300,000, instead of one cow that I earlier promised, because I am so excited by Baba Buhari’s victory and to make sure everybody rejoices with me.
“I am so happy, wallahi! My life wish has been fulfilled; even if I die now, I know Baba Buhari will change the fortune of Nigeria for good.
“Please tell him to start with bringing back lasting security and to help those who lost their families. Let him give us electricity, revive our industries and provide jobs to our youths,” she said, calling on Nigerians to pray for the president-elect.
Some of the people seen at the food canteen expressed delight for her generosity and prayed for Buhari’s success in steering the affairs of the country.
Bala Dankano, a tanker driver, said he has been patronizing the canteen for over 20 years and decided to eat the food for free for the first time because of Buhari.
