President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Dan C. Anyanwu as the Provost of the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri.
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Mr. Olusegun A. Adekunle, in a statement on Wednesday night, said the appointment is for an initial period of four years, with effect from 25th July, 2018.
“Mr. President charged the new Provost to transform the Institution into an enviable national academic and moral centre of excellence,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Gida Mustapha, will tomorrow (Thursday) open an induction programme for the recently appointed Board Chairmen and Members, on Corporate Governance in their agencies.
The Director, Press, OSGF, Mr. Lawrence Ojabo, said that the programme, holding in Abuja was aims at establishing and promoting good board governance culture rooted in the federal public service precepts, policies, procedures, protocols and organizational values.
“The Heads of EFFC, ICPC, BPP and a retired Head of the Civil Service of the Federation will facilitate the programme, which ends on Saturday 28th July, 2018,” Ojabo said.
He listed the agencies involved as Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Nigerian Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), Galaxy Backbone, National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC); National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRIMI); Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
